About Me

Cynthia Mahlberg
Cynthia is a native Californian. Throughout her childhood she enjoyed engaging in the visual arts, especially drawing. She completed her undergraduate studies at San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and a Minor in Interior Design in 1983. From 1982 to 1998, Cynthia became the owner of a successful commercial interior design company until she retired to raise her two children.

In her spare time during the years 1998 to 2003, she attended Bethel Seminary in San Diego. It was during a history class where professor Dr. James Smith explained how the arts and history greatly influence each other. From that, Cynthia began the challenge of painting.

Cynthia has refined her oil painting skills with instruction at the San Diego Museum of Art, the Athenaeum in La Jolla, Lela Harty Studios, and Watts Atelier. Currently, she paints in her home studio in Scripps Ranch, San Diego, California.

"Painting is like having fun with my Spirit while feeding my soul. I hope for my paintings to feed the souls of others as well."
