Faux Finish Painting
I liked this Phillip Jeffries wall covering for my home entrance pedestals, but the cost of this product is beyond what I could justify spending. It is called Zebra Grass, color Espresso. I purchased the Martha Stewart wood grain rocker from Home Depot together with her Interior Latex Faux Finishing Glaze. The rocker has two edges and one edge creates an uneven stripe which is the side I used. The wall was painted in a flat warm beige. The process was two-step glazing. The first step was to glaze a brown color and use a rough #3 steel wool to scratch off the paint and give it the grasscloth look. After 24 hours I then glazed an soft black color and created the uneven stripes. All for 1/10th the cost of the wall covering and installation expense.
