"Poinsettia Lime"

Isaiaih 57:14 And it will be said, "Build up, build up, prepare the way, remove every obstacle out of the way of my people."

Maybe because I was so busy last year and did not get to the decorating for Christmas last year that I am already thinking about Christmas.

"Fortune of Love", Jer 31:3 6X6 inch oil painting original

"Fortune of Love", 6" x 6" oil painting

Jeremiah 31:3 The LORD has appeared to me saying:

"Yes I have loved you with an everlasting love;

Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you."

As I was finishing up lunch with my son, and the fortune cookies arrived with the bill. I have always liked that touch. The message was sticking out like this painting shows. My paper themed paintings haven't been inspiring lately until now.

So here it is,

a Fortune of Love,

for you!

This bright pink flowering plant was stretching itself through a crack in a cedar fence. "Hello" Cynthia, paint me".  Although I passed it several times, egnoring it's plea, finally I stopped and painted this cutie.  It reminds me about the struggle it takes to get noticed, as an artist, and for anyone who has something to share. Maybe a story. So I listened to the flower's story.

6x6 oil painting on Ampersand gessoboard. I have begun to add a primer of oil ground by Gamblin to these panels, I feel the paint is more vibrant since the ground doesn't soak up the oils in the paint. They do take longer to dry, and it has taken a little getting used to.

"Nectarine Scan" Psalm 107:37 original oil painting 6x6

"Nectarine Scan" Psalm 107:37

"And sow fields and plant vineyards, And gather a fruitful harvest."

I was thinking that still life paintings sometimes look as if they could have been painted hundreds of years ago, so I decided to include the barcode sticker on one of the nectarines. I wonder how long this practice will be in place.
